About me
A few words about me
Hi there! My name is Lili and I am a professional Bulgarian language teacher. With my B.A. degree, teaching qualifications and experience, I have been working as a private online tutor.
I have had the amazing opportunity to teach students from different countries – Spain, England, Poland, Venezuela, the United States, Russia, Germany, China, etc. All of this experience and observations have allowed me to see one major drawback of the current educational system in the world. We spend so much time memorizing words, struggling to understand complex grammar rules and to write properly but we neglect one of the most important aspects – namely applying all of the knowledge that we have. That is why, after a lot of years learning a new language, we are completely unable to speak and express our thoughts freely. My mission is to change all of this and to show you that learning languages is fun and easy.
How do I teach
I managed to learn Spanish in less than 8 months without attending any schools and almost without any grammar or struggling. How did I do it then?
I used a completely different approach that allowed me to advance and to improve my language skills at a mindblowing speed. And this is exactly the method that I apply when I teach my students Bulgarian..
I help them get a lot of input, get immersed in the culture, learn a lot of useful phrases and vocabulary and then I encourage them to speak. In the beginning, a lot of them are too shy or they simply do not believe that they can actually say a correct sentence, but with a lot of support and encouragement, they become much more confident and willing to speak in the target language. All of my lessons are 100% tailor-made and designed to match the level, the needs and the knowledge of the student. That is why their progress becomes visible after only a few lessons.
Why Bulgarian with Lili
How much time did you spend at school and what do you remember from there? Well, for me it took quite a while before I realised that learning can also be productive and enjoyable. I came to this understanding after many years of struggling, memorizing boring information and forcing myself to study without seeing the point in it. I started to think that there must be another way because learning is the greatest purpose of life. It should be a fun and motivating process. Eventually this is what led me to the idea about Bulgarian with Lili.
Vision for the future
I believe that the passion and the desire to learn and to expand our consciousness are an inevitable part of our true self. My dream is that one day we will have new schools, a new educational system and new methods which will help us reveal a lot of the innate abilities that we have and improve them. A place in tune with nature where we could work on the gifts and the talents we possess by unraveling the mystery behind human capacity.
I see it as a place of peace, excitement and joy where everybody is learning with passion, laughter, games and fun. A school where absolutely each person (a student or a teacher) goes with a smile on their face and at the end of the day does not want to go back home. I know that we can achieve it by being persistent, hard-working and focused on the aim. Hope to see you there one day! And until then smile, have fun and learn Bulgarian.
